Reflecting on a Night at the IPPVA Gala.

Sunday evening was an unforgettable experience for me as I attended the IPPVA Gala, an event that celebrated creativity, talent, and friendship within the Irish photography community. As a finalist in the open creative category, the evening held special significance for me, as five of my images were recognised with awards. While I didn't clinch the overall award for Open creative, the pride and inspiration I felt among my colleagues was beyond measure.

Joining the IPPVA just last October, I started on a journey that has already exceeded my expectations. To be accepted into such a prestigious organisation, that recognises talent in the photography industry. Stepping into the Clontarf Castle, surrounded by individuals whose work I admire and look up to, was truly humbling. It served as a reminder of the possibilities that lie ahead in my own photographic journey.

Walking away with five awards in total for the winter awards is beyond my wildest dreams. Each recognition served as validation of the dedication and passion I pour into my craft. These awards represent milestones in my growth as a photographer, encouraging me to continue pushing boundaries and exploring new avenues of creativity.

The IPPVA Gala wasn't just about celebrating individual achievements; it was a celebration of the collective talent and spirit that binds us together as a community. It was an evening filled with laughter, shared experiences, and mutual encouragement—a reminder that we are all on this journey together, supporting and uplifting one another along the way.

As I reflect on the events of last night, I am filled with gratitude—for the opportunities afforded to me, for the friendships I have made from photography, and for the endless inspiration that surrounds me. The IPPVA Gala was not just a celebration of photography; it was a celebration of possibility, passion, and the power of community. And for that, I am truly grateful.
